They continue to manufacture three classes of
their justly celebrated Patent Portable Saw Mills,
which have given so much satisfaction to purchas-
ers throughout the Union. These Mills can be
driven by Horse, Steam or Water power, being
equally well adapted to either. They manufacture
all kinds and sizes of steam powers, such at steam.
Engines. Boiler and Smoke Stacks, mounted on
wheels, ready to be attached to the saw mill, with
the engine detached ready to go to work, or steam
engine and plain cylinder boilers.
They manufacture a large size Horse-Power,
with an enlarged wheel, and third-class Saw Mill,
particularly adapted to plantation purposes; many
hundreds of which are in use throughout the
States, doing good service and enjoying the favor
of the best j udges.
They also manufacture Horse Powers of three
sizes, adapted to all the purposes of the plantation
and farm, also timber wheels and lumber cars.
Their Portable Circular Saw Mills h ave been
greatly improved, and may now be said to be per-
fect in all their details, and to rank as the greatest
labor-saving machines of the age.
Caution Against Infringement’.
As their mills are patented and their rightshave
been infringed upon, and they have lately obtained
damages in an action brought in the United States
Circuit Court for'the District of Maryland, for an
infringement of their patent rights, they hereby
forewarn and caution all persons from purchasing
mills similar in principle to theirs from unauthor-
ized builders and manufacturers or their agent or
agents, as they are determined to seek redress
through the laws of the country for every viola-
tion of their rights and privileges, as guaranteed
by the patent granted by the Government of: the
United States.
G A pamphlet containing full descriptions of
their three classes of saw mills, steam powers,
horse powers, prices, terms, capacity for sawing,
etc , will be furnished to any party applying for
one by letter. Apply to their agent in New Or-

Page’s Saw Mills.—In referring our readers to
the advertisement of Page’s Saw Mills, we woule
remark that there are several of them in use in
this State, and they give the greatest satisfaction.
Indeed they are held by experienced persons to be
superior to all others, of which the manufacturers
have numerous testimonials. As our State grows
in population saw mills are wanted, in greater
number, and it is of the utmost importance to
those who get them and-go into the lumber busi-
ness, to obtain machinery that is durable and la-
bor saving, which qualities, with great speed, are
claimed for Page’s mills — Galveston News.

RUMEROUS remedies of more or less power to
N cure, have long since been offered to the pub-
lic, but in nearly every nstance, they have proved
ineffectual or injurious in their effects upon the
system.
Our wide-spread and long acquaintance with
the southern country demonstrated to us the
absolute want of a. safe and certain cure for Fever
and Ague. Quinine, although the great remedy
which is relied upon for this complaint, frequently
produces disastrous effects, and thereby injures the
health and constitution.
As a general rule it only alleviates the disease,
and does but little towards a radical and. perma-
nent cure.
We feel confident we are offering the communi-
ty a better remedy; it contains no deleterious. in-
gredients and invariably cures
FEVER & AGUE, OR INTERMITTENT
FEVER, REMITTENT FEVER,
RILLIOUS FEVER &
DUMB AGUE.
All of which originate from nearly the same
cause, namely, the miasmatic effluvia arising from
decaying vegetation in water or moist earth. It
is an exceedingly subtle and insidious poison ab-
sorbed into the blood, and inmany cases is accu-
mulated in the system a longtime before it shows
its presence in the form of Fever and Ague.
This remedy cures the Fever and Ague in this
way—it at once attacks the poison in the system
by stimulating the liver and expelling the virus
impurities from the blood.

NXTE ARE NOW RECEIVING in part our new Stock for 1860, and will continue to receive until

friends,in Eastern Texas, (for very many of them have traded with our house from its very begin-

and friends with nearly every wish, we think that we do not hazard very much in saying that we
CAN and WILL furnish all those who are disposed to favor us with their patronage, with good
GOODS, at as low prices, and on as liberal terms, as any other house in Marshall, Jefferson,

we cannot and will not do as well for the Planter as he.can do in New Orleans, considering travelling
expenses, time, interest, etc., etc. We here pledge ourselves to our old customers and friends, to-
gether with all the new ones to be had in a fair and honorhble way, to sell them their Goods on as
good terms as any house this side of New Orleans.
We return our most sincere thanks to our old friends and the public generally, for the long and
liberal patronage hererofore bestowed upon our house, and hope, by an honorable and liberal course,
still to merit a continuance of the same, promising to spare no efforts to please all, both in quality

Every one should be impressed with the neces-

proper remedy, at the proper time, might have

Is pronounced to be the proper remedy for all dis-

THE CELEBRATED
ARGYLE BITTERS!
VNTILL effectually cure Dyspepsia, Liver Com-
VV plaint, Nervous.Debility, Disordered Stom-
rch, disgust for food, Heartburn, Loss of appetite,
General debility, and prostration of the system.-
They are entirely vegetable, and free from all in-
jurious ingredients. They are pleasant in taste,
and mild in their effects, keeping the bowels gent-
ly acted upon, and will remove all impurities from
the stomach.
These elegant Bitters are' peculiarly adapted for
a warm climate; and every person desiring health
strength, and protection from the diseases incident
to the climate, should use them.
Persons advanced in life, and feeling the hand
of Time weighing heavily upon them, with all its
attendant ills, will find in the use of the Bitters
an Elixir that will instill new life into their veins;
restore, in a measure, the energy and ardor or
more youthful days; build up their shrunken
forms, and give health and happiness to their re-
maining years.
It is a well established fact, that fully one half
of the female portion of our population are sel-
dom in the enjoyment of good health, or, to use
their own expression, ‘ never feel well.’ They are
languid, devoid of all energy, extremely nervous,
and have no appetite. To this class of invalids,
these Bitters are especially recommended. Their
peculiar tonic and invigorating properties render
them invaluable in such cases.
Persons visiting districts harassed annually with
Fever and Ague, or any Fever of a billions nature
will find that by the timely use of one or two bot-
tles they will not in one instance take the disease,
as the Bitters will renovate and strengthen the
system, and carry the bile off, in its natural chan-
nel.
