Clara Belle writing from New York says:
A fresh delight discovered by our fashionable
woman isn’t fresh at all but decidedly salt.
The idea spread among them last summer that
sea-bathing had a rejuvenating effect. The
consequence is that they have established
fountains of youth in their bath-rooms — that
is to say they put rock salt in the tubs and
pickle themselves. The strictly proper thing
is to take off your night-gown on arising in
the morning and put on a wrapper made of a
bed-blanket. This unique garment should be
trimmed with the borders which finish the
blanket. This unique garment should be
trimmed with the borders which finish the
blanket ends else the medicinal effects may
be lost. Thus warmly wrapped you go to
the bath-room turn on the hot and cold water
and throw in about a pint of salt. When the
tub is nearly full you doff your wrapper take
a header into the water kick up a realistic
surf perhaps get a chance mouthful of the
brine and imagine that you are in the real salt
sea.

To the Voters of Bexar County.
It being the universal opinion that no county
convention be held to nominate candidates for
county offices the republican executive com-
mittee at the suggestion of a large number of
republicans and independents have selected
without regard to party the best available
candidates for count) otlicers us have been pre-
Heutuil to your committee.
The election of the best men apart from all
political considerations will prove the capaci-
ty of our citizens for self-government and will
alford the best and the surest means of pro-
tecting this city and county witli its citizens
from unjust or unwise legislation against the
individual party or coporration.
To-day it is the unanimous sentiment and
general disposition of all parties throughout
the country toentrust good men only with the
duties and the responsibilities of power. This
makes it incumbent upon us to present to those
we represent only such candidates as shall by
their persimal character and the position they
have attained in the good will and conliilence
of their t'eilow-citizens be a testimonial to art
that the offices to which they may be elected
shall be so administered as to promote the pub-
lic welfare without regard to party supremacy.

fore them have endorsed and do reeomUWlld
