Became Clergyman So He
Coaid Help His
Fellowmen.
New York. Feb. 3.—Dr. Rev. Percy
Stickney Grant rector of the Protest-
ant Episcopal Church of the Ascen-
si i. in his first sermon since Bishop
William T. Maiming informed him that
he would not be tried for heresy told
a large congregation that “I did not
bcr me a clergyman to bA-ome a parrot
and repeat what was in the Bible. ’
“I became a clergyman." he said “so
I could help my fellowmen and help
solve some of the problems of civil
life. One thing about a clergyman is
that his associations are with the peo-
ple he loves and he is happy when
they seem to be happy in his church.”
Dr. Grant took as his text the
142nd Psalm 120th verse “Young
Men and Maidens. Old Men and Chil-
dren. Praise the Name of the Lord.”
“We arc living in a new age. r.nd
want the benefit of all extraordinary
knowledge.” Dr. Grant said. “I am
an affirmative kind of a person. There
has to he a little clearing of the
ground before you can construct.”
“We must a«k for the incoming of
all the light and each must enlarge
the visiting of spiritual good.” he con-
tinued “there is no such thing as
spiritual complacency. It must be
stronger every day inside or outside
the church. The knowledge is in the
l>ossession of anyone who cares to have
it. Wo should try to make it attractive
and effective.
"We say Jesus taught us we are all
brothers. What is the practical rrsult
when we have labor disputes and
trouble between nations? Does it pro-

do about it?”

Film —your great enemy
Film is the great tooth wrecker—that vis-
cous film you feel. It clings to teeth enters
crevices and stays.
Food stains etc. discolor it then it forms
dingy coats. Tartar is based on film. Those
thin coats dim the luster of the teeth.
Film also holds food substance which fer-
ments and forms acid. It holds the acid in
contact with the teeth to cause decay. That's
why tooth troubles were almost universal.
Germs breed by millions in film. They
with tartar are the chief cause of pyorrhea
now so alarmingly common.

Able authorities proved these methods by
many careful tests. Then a new-type tooth

These two film combatants were embodied
in it for daily application.
That tooth paste is called Pepsodent. Care-
