Today's ceremony took place in the
Victorian reception room of the for-
eign office renowned in post-war Eu-
rope for the brilliant gatherings of
statesmen and diplomats who accepted
the hospitality of the British mon-
arch’s secretary of state for foreign

in the guildeid room but who no longer
are concerned with the affairs of na-
tions. were often the ex-kaiser the
Grand Duke Nichola* of Russia and

Hapeburgs.
TREATIES PRINTED.
During the war this room with the
adjoining banquet hall and dining
room was abandoned to typists who
were moved only a few weeks ago.
Workmen had restored the gilded lus-
ter and the color to the walls; flags
of the nation* represented today hung
about ami a thick heavy red carpet hid
the inkspots and bruises of the ouce
polished floor.
The treaties were not a* is the
usual ease engraved on parchment
but only printed in French German
and English on fine paper with the
fourth and last page* left almost
blank for the signatures.
The signatures were in alphabetical
order of the names of the countries in
French so that Chancellor Luther
and Foreign Minister Stresemann. rep-
resenting Germany (AUemagne) were
the first to sign.
After the signing the German pleni-
potentiaries proceeded to Buckingham
Palace to sign the register. After-
wards they attended a private lunch-

Sour Stomach
“Phillips Milk of Magnesia”
Better than Soda
instead of soda hereafter take a
little "Phillips Milk of Magnesia” in
water any time for indigestion or
sour acid gassy stomach and relief
will come instantly.
For fifty years genuine “Phillips
Milk of Sfagnesia” has been pre-
scribed by physicians because it over-
comes three times as much acid in
the stomach as a saturated solution
of bicarbonate of soda leaving the
stomach sweet and free from all
gases. It neutralises acid fermenta-
tions in the bowels and gently urges
the souring waste from the system
without purging. Besides it is more
pleasant to take than soda. Insist
upon “Phillips.” Twenty-five cent
