not close until April 15. There will

United Daughters of the Confederacy
met Tuesday in the oak room of the
Kt. Anthony hotel to hear the reports
from the officers. Arrangements for
the social to be given by the chapter
in honor of the veterans in the Army
T. M. C. A. on April 20 were com-
nlcted. The float to be entered in the
Battle of Flowers parade also was
planned.

Monday night in the St. Anthony hotel
for the annual election of officers.

Friday afternoon Mrs. Frank N.
Haggard entertained with a tea in her
home in West Mulberry avenue hon-
oring her sister Mrs. Charles Hag-
gard. a recent arrival from Galveston.
Spring flowers of all varieties and
hues decorated the living room in
which the guests were received by the
hostess the guest of honor and Mrs.
Ralph Jackson. Mrs. Robert Barron •
and Mrs. Rex Ross. At the door the
guests were greeted by Mrs. Mariam
Shaw and Mrs. John L. Pridgen.
The table in the dining room cov-
ered with an Italian cut-work cover
was adorned with a Dresden bowl
filled with yellow snapdragon and pink
larkspur. Dresden candlesticks held
pink tajiers. Mrs. Robert N. Mar-
tindale. Mrs. W. R. Fields. Mrs. Tem-
ple Calhoun and Mrs. Charles Fichtner
received and served in here. Assisting
were Misses Evelyn Pridgen and Betty
Sue Robertson.
About 125 guests called during the
afternoon.

niece Mary to Robert 8. Maxwell.
The wedding will take place at 12
o’clock noon. April 22 in St. Mark’s
Episcopal Church.
