“If people just realized how interesting, informative, and
important the course is, they would certainly attend,” was one
of the comments expressed after the first.session of the Driver
Refresher and Information Course at Medina Valley High
Schooty,
The course is conducted by Van Smith, a safety officer
from the Texas State Department of Public Safety, and is for
all Medina Valley residents, especially adults. There are no
tests, just instructions, talks, and films. Following each ses-
sion, driving laws are discussed.
Only about 25 to 30 persons attended the first session...
There is room for many more. Smith and another highway patrol-
man will be present at the next session, Tuesday, Oct. 20,
and freeway driving will be one of the topics to be discussed
at the final session Tuesday, Oct. 27. At that time, certifi- .
cates of attendance will be awarded to those wh attended all
3 sessions.
