SEWER WK
TO 8E ORDERED
STARTED SOON
Council Will Call for Bids
From Contractors Next
Monday.
EXPECT OUTFALL PLANS
Until This Is Built New Sewers
Cannot Be Con-
nected. ’
Compilation of the sewer plans re-
ceived from Samuel M. Gray the
sewer engineer has Deen completed
by City Engineer Helland and next
Monday the council will authorize
a request for blds on approximately
J 134000 worth of work. This rep-
resents only a small part of the
sewers to be Installed and Includes
only those on which all the plans
profiles and other necessary data as
received from Engineer Gray is com-
plete.
A serious handicap to the immedi-
ate use of some of these sewers may
follow Mr. Gray's failure to send
plans for the second outfall sewer.
Until this can be Installed many of
the sewers especially those on the
west side will not be available for
use since the present outfall sewer
Is now taxed to Its capacity. This
second outfall sewer is to follow a
line running down South Flores
street and on southward to a point
below the city where It is to reach
the right of way of the present out-
fall sewer extending to Mitchell's
lake. Engineers explain that Mr.
Gray could not prepare plans for
this second outfall until he had ob-
tained the varying levels of the
sewer mains which It Is to drain.
These are now In course of prepara-
tion.
Will Block Up the Sewers.
Meanwhile it Is planned however
to go forward with the work of lay-
ing sewers wherever Mr Gray's
plans are complete. Some of these
sewers cannot be connected up with
the system until the outfall sewer
into which they are to drain is built.
They will however be built and out
of the way so as not to prove a bar- i
rier for paving work contemplated
for some of these streets. Aiderman
Lambert chairman of the sewer
committee is anxious to see the
work started and at the council
meeting next Monday will submit the
list as compiled by Engineer Hel-
land. It Is to be let by contract and
constitutes the most extensive sewer
work ordered In San Antonio In
more than twenty years.

FORCEFUL WORDS
BY NOTED PASTOR
MINISTER WHO BITW CHURCH

OF “PLANT JUICE.”
The first apartment house built
| and owned by a church is the St.
John's Apartments at Fort Worth.
This stroke of enterprise was con-
ceived and executed by the Rev. Paul
Langhorst and the congregation of
SL John’s M. E. Evangelical Church
over which he presides. Rev. Lang-
horst resides at 309 Texas street
Fort Worth and in many ways he is
one of the most noted clergymen In
the state. He said:
‘‘As a tonic and remedial agent 1n
stomach disorders it gives me great
pleasure to recommend your ‘Plant
Juice’ very highly. I have personally
tested it and am sure that it is an
article of great merit. It has proven
of great physical benefit to me.”
The foregoing brief but pointed
statement can not fail to carry such
weight among the thousands who
suffer with stomach disorders and
kindred troubles. “Plant Juice” re-
pairs and revitalizes wasted tissue
and vital organs that have been un-
dermined by work worry or disease.
Its action on stomach liver kidneys
and blood is so marked that the user
finds himself with new life and
energy. It restores vitality and cures
debilitated conditions. Fischer’s drug
