foregoing instrument, and acknowledged to me that he executed the same for the purposes

That we, Dee Thompson, as party of the first part, and T. H. Stanford parties of the
second part, all of Travis County, Texas, have this day made and entered into the
following agreement and contract, to-wit:

vacant lot, and this contract is being executed before any work is done or material
furnished hereunder; that should the improvements above mentioned fail for any reason
to be completed, or if for any reason the contractor should fail to furnish all
the labor and material to be used in the erection thereof, then the contractor or other
holder of the above mentioned indebtedness and note shall have a valid and subsisting
lien to the full extent of the labor and material actually furnished and placed on the
above described property; and that the entering by the owners into possession of said
improvements or the acknowledgment by them of the completion of this contract, as well
as any other sufficient proof, shall be conclusive evidence that all duties and
obligations of the contractor have been fully and completely performed.
In Testimony Whereof, witness our hands, this 22nd day of Tune, A.D. 1940.

to the foregoing instrument, and having been examined by me privily and apart from her
husband, and having the same fully explained to her, she, the said Miriam’Davis,
acknowledged such instrument to be her act and deed, and declared that she had willingly
signed the same for the purposes and consideration therein expressed, and that she did
not wish to retract it.
