Suddenly, Marie and Jan-
ice Vlasak appeared on the
scene with hands full of
colorful balloons attached to
long strings, which were
released to make a very
colorful ceiling.
Four beautiful, over-sized
balloons of blue and red were
then brought out and re-
leased, with the announce-
ment that they were to go to
the 4 oldest Senior Citizens
present. These were Mr.
George Tiemann, Mr. Stel-
ter, Mr. Vee Dunlap and
Mrs. Mary Hohertz.
We would like to express
our appreciation to the
Vlasaks for this inspiring
program. Also our thanks to
the Zion Lutheran Church for
allowing us to use their
beautiful building for our
meeting each month.
Mr. and Mrs. Luke John-
son and Mrs. Minnie Tisch-
ler were first-time visitors —
but we certainly hope not
last-time ones.
Forty people were in
attendance to enjoy a boun-
tiful and delicious meal. Why
not plan to join us on the 18th
of August for a fun and feast
frolic? We welcome you!!

On July 21st, the Senior
Citizens of Priddy met for
their monthly luncheon (the
3rd Thursday of each month)
There was a large attendance
to enjoy games of 42, Skip-Bo
and dominoes, which were
played throughout the day.
At the noon hour, Mrs.
Beth Miles, director of the
Center, made announce-
ments, then turned the
program over to the Pastor of
the Lutheran Church, Rev.
Don Vlasak, his wife and
daughters.
Since this was our only
meeting in July, Rev. Vlasak
brought a program on the
Independence of our country.
The dining tables were
arranged in a V formation,
and the Reverend comment-
ed on the birth and growth of
our nation, and what we as
citizens owe to this great
land. The group, who formed
a circle around the tables,
sang “America”, and was
accompanied at the piano by
Mrs. Vlasak. “God Bless our
Native Land” was sung as a
prayer. Then the group
joyfully sang ‘Happy Birth-
day, Uncle Sam’.
