two weeks. We are not in shape
to run well, and we are still do-
ing beginning drills in our field
events. Our number one goal for
everybody is to peak at the Dis-
trict Meet in mid April. We set
some goals for these kids to
achieve and this first meet gave
us an idea where we stand and
where we need to go to work.
The competition at Junction
for our team on Saturday was
tough. We had some good efforts
and some personal best throws,
not to score any more points
than we did. The weather was
beautiful and I think we learned
that the sun can drain you pretty
quickly when you haven’t seen it
in a while.

points behind these places:
Elizabeth Beckemeyer, 2nd in
the shot put with a personal best
throw of 36’5”. She also placed
5th in the discus.

On Friday, February 28, the
First Graders at Goldth-
waite Elementary cel-
ebrated “Money Day.” Ac-
tivities included Fantasy
Land, Aladdin’s Game
Room, Martinez’s Mall,
Proffitt’s Health Spa and
Movie Land Theater. The
children used real-life
money skills such as paying
for the activities, saving, and
keeping up with their bud-
get amount with their play
money. The teachers were
very pleased with the results
and the Eagle photographer
was tempted to send Mrs.
Eagle photographer for a
crash course in money man-
agement.
