What might have been a serious
fire at the Commercial Hotel
Wednesday was prevented by the
prompt actions of Mr. Edwards,
proprietor of the hotel. Fire was
discovered about 7o’clock in the
morning in a bed in one of the
rooms in the upper story. The bed-
ding was ablaze and in a few mo-
ments would have communicated
fire to the building. Mr. Edwards
rolled the bedding carefully and
carried it out of the house and in
doing so burned one of his hands
painfully.
