So -the sport year is over- as Ear
as the black and gold is concerned.
Some of the boys wanted track
but so much time has to be de
voted to football and as the thinly
clad sport doesn't work in with
the grid game the youngsters who
cavort on the cinder path will not
cavort.
It’s the Tans’ fault, more or less.
They demand a winner in football
and to have one the coaches must
work every available minute with
the boys to develop them.
While we regret to see track pass
at Cleburne High it seems there’s
nothing else but just regfet it-.
So that's that.

That's definite and final.
Nick Dobbs is at it again.
-The former Highland Park, Dal-
I las. mentor last season directed the
Jefferson University Rangers of the
I City of the Hour in a muchly pub-
I licized football season.
Nick took the job on a gate per-
l centage basis—and there wasn't any
• percentage.
Yet Dobbs, who got the gate at
Jefferson, is now going to skipper
another Dallas law school. ‘They’ll
• call it Dixie University and about
the same crew, which ineluded some
i all-Americans, will report to Nick
i at his new location.
Dobbs is passing up a bet, how-
ever. The fans dan't want to see
socalled "outlaw” tootball. They
want to see 'em when they're bat-
tling for some kind of title. Such
teams as Dobbs has had and will
have are playing for nothing but
j the gate and publicity it will bring
the school.
If Dobbs would play a team that
held to the rules of the Southwest-
ern Conference he'd get more fans
to see him play. As it now stands
they Just go out there to see a
bunch oT fellows who have already
earned fame elsewhere beat the
j schools that care to play them.
I A few want to play them because .
In taking on Dobbs' club the team
has everything to lose' and notltmg
to gain.
