The Giddings City Police have
arrested a 30-year-old Giddings
man, Wesley Bradshaw, in connec-
tion with the theft of some tools from
a bed of a pickup truck
Don Ray Schulz, who lives in the
100 block of South Caldwell, reported
the theft of some tools from his 1987
Ford pickup truck early Friday
morning. .
Giddings Police reported that a
suspect was being sought and over
the weekend Mr Bradshaw was
arrested on the theft charge

The Lee County Sheriff’s Depart-
ment and the DPS Auto Theft Unit
arrested a Giddings man Thursday
on three felony counts
Greg Stewart was taken into
custody at his shop located in north
Giddings on charges of auto theft,
possession of drug paraphernalia,
and possession of a stolen firearm
The Lexington Eagles finished
their volleyball season, placing third
in the state volleyball tournament
last Friday.
The Eagles, who had a 21-10
season record, were defeated by
Jewett Leon in semi-final action
Friday morning at Berger Center in
Austin.
This is the highest any Lexington
volleyball team has ever advanced
in the state playoffs.
In the first game against Leon
Santa Fe Minerals is one of the
largest oil well operating companies
in the Giddings Field. At one time
the company had nearly 200
producing wells in the field
Although Santa Fe Minerals is
headquartered in Dallas, it is a
subsidiary of the Kuwaiti govern-
ment's oil company and is owned by
Supt Clarence Buck told the
Giddings School Board that the State
Legislature had under appropriated
funds for the new finance bill and
that the Giddings ISD will receive
less state funds due to the proration
of state funds among school
districts.
Mrs Pat Mutscher, GISD business
manager, reported that $897,000 has
been collected in taxes in 1990, and
delinquent tax collections were also
the government of Kuwait.
The local office of Santa Fe
Minerals is located on U.S. 77 two
miles south of Giddings near the

in motorcycle wreck
A 32-year-old Giddings man was
killed in a motorcycle-pickup wreck
at Elgin Tuesday night, Nov. 13.
Carl Warren Miller, who was
identified as a Giddings furniture
mover, was eastbound on U.S 290 in
Elgin when his motorcycle collided
with a pickup that was leaving a

an ordinance Monday night to
declare the city’s intention to
