born on October 27,1990 at 8:26 a.m.
at Trinity Medical North in
Brenham.
Nathan Charles weighed 8 lbs. 1
oz. and was 20%4 inches in length.
Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.
Aaron Proske of Lexington and Mr.
and Mrs. Al Chew of Giddings.
Breakfast Lions hold
bowling tourney
Giddings Breakfast Lions Club
held a bowling tournament on Nov.
17 & 18 at Leesure Recreation.
Winners at the tournament were:

Doug Thielemann; 2nd doubles,
James & Geri Wiggins; 3rd doubles,

Giddings High School DECA
Chapter.
Blue Santa is a joint effort between
local law enforcement agencies and
the community to raise gift and cash
donations for Lee County’s less
fortunate families.
Kristy Zoch, president of DECA,
has issued a challenge to all GHS
student organizations to top the
production of labor and gift
contributions committed to Blue
Santa by the DECA Chapter Kristy
said, "The DECA group is planning
to contribute over 300 hours of work
January 28, 1991, on local television
station KXAN, Channel 36
Elgin was chosen from a long list
of similarly sized towns. Biber
Hogue staff said they selected Elgin
because of its character of
individualism and the enthusiasm
and cooperation which the staff
immediately received from the
merchants and citizens of Elgin

Filming for an NBC-TV movie is
expected to start in the neighboring
town of Elgin after Thanksgiving.
The movie entitled “In Broad
Daylight,” stars Cloris Leachman
and Brian Dennehy.
Biber-Hogue Productions has
already arrived in Elgin, with staff
carpenters and painters already
beginning to transform some of the
stores and offices into film sets
Others on the production staff are
roaming Elgin neighborhoods in
search of exterior locations.
A Nov. 27 th start date is
anticipated.
The movie itself is based upon an
actual 1981 incident in Missouri
when a small town, much like Elgin,
defended itself against a menacing
town bully. The moive stars Brian
Dennehy C‘Cocoon,” “Silverado,”
“Presumed Innocent”), Cloris
Leachman (“Mary Tyler Moore
Show," "Texasville") and Marsha
Gay Hardin (“Miller’s Crossing”).
It is scheduled for broadcast on
