School supplies wanted
Back to school demands from
pens, notebooks, folders, to clo-
thing can be a strain on some
families’ budgets, but a drive is
underway to help these families.
The drive organized by the Un-
ited Way, Corpus Christi Boys
and Girls Club, the Labor Coun-
cil, Gulf Coast Council and Boy
Scouts will be held until
September.
Approximately 38,000 chil-
dren in 21 school districts will
need donated school supplies for
back to school needs.
In the Ingleside school district,
it was project that 25 kids in the
elementary grades and 30 in the
junior high grades would need
help in getting needed supplies
An accident involving a
motorcycle, a three quarter ton day no charges against any of the
CPL truck and a recreational drivers involved had been made

Ingleside 4-H projects merit ribbons
Ingleside 4-H members recent-
ly participated in a county wide
officer training and club manage-
ment workshop held at the Wel-
der Wildlife Refuge
Attending the event were 4-H
President Richard Burgess, Re-
porter Crystal Polasek. and 4-H
Leader Thresa Burgess
As a part of the workshops, get
aquainted games were played,
and role model games in which
members acted out the duties of
various office to which they were
elected
Richard Burgess was in charge
of teaching the parliamentarians.
After a short break, the group
met as a whole and shared club
ideas and goals for the coming
club year
One of the planned activites
will be a money making project of
selling 1992 calendars The
calendars will be sponsored by
Fleischmanns Yeast and the
National 4-H Council
On the calendars will be
monthly bread recipes and tips
on family activities to strenghen
important values.
Cost for the calendars will be
S4. and they will be delivered af-
ter an order is placed by mid-
December The club needs the
support of the community Each
4-H member will be selling the
calendars, or interested persons
should contact Thresa Burgess-
776-2421 or Mary Polasek-776-
2842.
Also recently, four Ingleside 4-
H members prepared Record
Books for judging and received
blue ribbons for their entrys.
Winning the ribbons were:
Senior Division-Michelle Vickery
for a rabbit project and Richard
Burgess for a swine project. Sub-
Junior Division winners were:
Mandy Dan iels for a sheep project
and Crystal Polasek for a rabbit
project.
Burgess’ and Polasek’s projects
went on to district level .where
they both also earned blue rib-
bons
In addition to Burgess and Miss
Polasek, officers include Michelle
Vickery, vice president, and
Rosie Hatch, secretary.
