taxes last week, the House mark-
ed time with committee hearings.
The margarine tax reapel passed
the House nearly a year ago and
at long last the Senate leadership
decided to take it up and do some-

tory. punitive, and cannot be just-

soon on the bill to create a Fair
Employment Practices Commis-
sion (FEPC). Most observers
think it will be passed in the
House and will be blocked in the
Senate by a Southern filibuster.
The measure, sponsored by the
CIO, the National Association for
the Advancement of Colored Peo-
ple, and various left-wing organi-
zations. Is being pushed along
