And, on the lighter said, Moye

Pumpkin Day,” Halloween, with
a picnic at Brackenridge Park,
San Antonio on Oct. 31.
Local share of the teacher
pay raise-20 per cent—must come
out of local tax revenues on prop-
erty, the only source of local
school funds. Texas Assn, of
School Boards, meeting in Aus-
tin, has asked for help. Attending
the meeting in Austin were Me-
dina Valley Spt. Matt Bader and
Board Member Louis Lagleder.
The local school board is a mem-
ber of the association.
A resolution adopted at the
meeting requested the Texas Ed-
ucation Agency to make a study
as to other ways in which school
districts might raise money fot
the local share of school opera-
tions.
Bader noted that the 'local
school tax rate was increased 5
cents per 100 valuation because
of the pay raise.
