Remember those days when you believe you would have
been better off if you never left your room at home? We had
a week's worth of errors to prove that belief last week.
Legitimate errors we want to know about and appreciate
the calls about them as well as constructive criticism. The
other complaints we just try to be patient with the caller,
listen and do what we can. Last week, our cup runneth
over. However, all those folks we errored were
understanding about it and we do apologize.
DAVorLegion?
The DAV in Castroville has a social April 29 with their
wives and guests. At that time we took pictures of their
outgoing and incoming officers. . .only we identified them
as American Legion Officers.
Presidentpastorpresent? ‛ ___.
On the front page the Castroville Lions Club presented a
check to the Castroville VFD. The man presenting the
check was identified as Chester Maples, president. He
isn’t. He was last year. Robert Wanat is this year.
Designer or builder?
Dick McAnelly got a lot of credit for someone elses work
when the cuttine by the new Regional Park sign said he did
it. Actually his daughter and son-in-law Beth and Steve
Hannemann worked 26 hours on the sign construction, he
helped design it.
Schiitz did what?
We awarded the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company the
Mickey's Malt Liquor and Malt Duck distributorship
instead of awarding it to the South Texas Beer Distributing
Company, Inc. of Hondo who actually received it.
Our batting record has not been real good lately, but we
are aware of these problems and are working to correct
them so we won’t have to print so many corrections.
