FILLINGS THAT MATCH TOOTH COLOR
While traditional amalgam (silver) fillings are darker than your natural tooth
color. the composite (or "white filling”) can be made to look like your own teeth This
cosmetic filling is made of a composite resin quartz and usually contains some sort
of light-sensitive agent These light-cured composites can be used in both the front
teeth and molars. As with a traditional filling, it is first necessary to remove the
decay Once the tooth is conditioned, a thin resin is applied which bonds to the
etched surface After placement, the composite is hardened by shining an intense
light on it, usually for about 40 seconds After that, the tooth can be subjected imme-
diately to the forces of biting and chewing.
The many faces of cosmetic dentistry all work toward the same goal - provid-
ing you with more reasons than ever before to break into a smile Teeth with decay
on visible surfaces, as well as discolored, unattractive, and chipped teeth can all be
dealt with through the various cosmetic procedures available today, including com-
posite fillings bonding, porcelain laminates, whitening, and other smile enhance-
ments Maximize your options for a dazzling smile - call us at 281 -331 -0020 for an
appointment at 1701 Fairway #20 in the Wal-Mart S< opping Center
PS Any potential temperature sensitivity associated with white fillings should
abate within a week
