Alvin Community College students now have a new resource at their
disposal if college class work becomes overwhelming. In the spring of
2002, the Alvin Community College Academic Enhancement Center
(or AEC) officially opened its doors to become an operational part of
the Learning Lab. The purpose of this center is to provide a variety of
services to under-prepared college students, track student progress,
facilitate communication among the developmental disciplines and
coordinate efforts in meeting TASP objectives. The center exists to
provide support to students in the form of tutoring, referrals to career
advising referrals for special accommodations, time management and
stress management skills, test anxiety assistance, TASP advising, and
other tools that might improve their chances for success in the class-
room. The center is located in the ACC Library, Room A210.
