Goodson, 51, of Llano, TX were
held Sunday, May 2 al the Llano
City Cemetery with Brother Her-
schel Vance officiating.
He was born March 16, 1948 in
Houston, TX and died May 1, 1999
in Llano.
He was married to Carolyn Berry
on August 12, 1966 in Edgewood,
TX.
He was the owner and manager of
an asphalt paving company. He had
been a resident of Llano since 1982
coming from Houston. He was of
the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his
parents.
Survivors include his wife Car-
olyn Goodson of Llano; sons Dou-
glas Kyle Goodson and wife Pamela
of Houston, Brian Keith Goodson
and Kelly Paul Goodson, both of
Llano; brother Dr. Paul Goodson of
Bremond, TX; step-mother Ruth
Goodson of Llano; and step-father
Harold Donnelley of New Carney,
TX.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the American Cancer Soci-
ety or the Llano Memorial Hospital

Funeral services for Gerald Pre-
ston Davis, Sr., 72, of Pontotoc,
TX were held Tuesday, May 4, at
the Waldrope, Hatfield, Hawthorne
Chapel in Llano, TX with Reverend
Rick Cundicff officiating. Interment
followed at the Pontotoc Cemetery
in Pontotoc.
He was born September 26, 1926
in Colorado City, TX and died
April 29, 1999 in Llano, TX.
He was married to Bennetia
Sachse on March 31, 1967 in
Austin, TX. He had worked as an
iron worker in construction and was
a member of the ironworkers Local
482 in Austin. He was a U. S.
Navy veteran of WWII. He lived in
Pontotoc for 12 years coming from
Austin. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife Ben-
netta Davis of Pontotoc; sons Ger-
ald Davis, Jr. of Midland, TX and
Edward Cantu of Austin; sister
Orctha Holloway of Snyder, TX;
brother Willie Davis of Snyder and
four grandsons.
Pallbearers were Marvin Rags-
dale, Bill Kissman, Sonny Laguna,
Travis Lee, Robert Burt and
Tommy Reeves.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the Llano Hospital or
Cherokee Childrens Home.

May 5, 1999 at the Llano City
Cemetery with Brother Eugene
Greer officiating.
He was bom June 23, 1925 in
Bell County, TX and died May 2,
1999 in Llano.
He was married to Mattie
Bumpas on November 28, 1969 in
Lampasas, TX and had worked as a
maintence technician. He was a
U.S.M.C. and U.S.N. veteran of
WWII and Korea. He lived in Llano
since 1981 moving from Lampasas
and was a member of the V.F.W.
Survivors include his wife Mattie
Davis of Llano; two sons and one
daughter; step daughters Peggy
Sharp of Highland, IL, Sandra
Beavers of Stephenville, TX and
Pamela Grindle of Kingsland, TX;
ten daughters and five great grand-
children.

Smith, 79, of Llano, were held
Sunday in Gooch Cemetery with
Ray Ash, pastor of the First Baptist
Church officiating.
He was bom October 26, 1919 in
Streeter, TX and died April 29,
1999 in Llano.
He was married to Rachel McIn-
tosh in 1951. He was a longtime
resident of Streeter prior to moving
to Houston in 1957. He had been a
resident of Llano since 1985. He
worked as a mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his
wife Rachel in 1992.
Survivors include son Gary
Smith of Llano; stepdaughters Pat
Ballard of Burnet and Sandra Blan-
ton of Ormayor; brother Bill Smith
of Arizona; sister Viola Sorenson
of Hutto and four step grandchildren
and three step great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Beverly
Harden, 62, of Llano, TX were held
Saturday, May 1 at the Waldrope,
Hatfield, Hawthorne Chapel in
Llano, TX with Rev. Rick Cundicff
officiating. Interment followed at
the Llano City Cemetery.
He was born August 17, 1936 in
Kerrville, TX and died April 28,
1999 in Llano. He was married to
Melba Smith on December 4, 1959
in Llano and owned and operated
Harden's Garage since 1977. He was
a U.S. Army veteran. He lived
most of his life in Llano. He had
previously sat on the Housing Au-
thority Board, the Community
Center Board and the Activity Club
in Llano.
He was preceded in death by his
parents and sister, Betty Talley.
Survivors include his wife,
Melba Smith Harden of Llano;
daughter Patti Harden of Llano;
sons Timmy and Tony Harden of
Llano; sisters Mildred Pair of San
Angelo, TX, Joyce Lackey of
Llano, June Rausch of New Braun-
fels, TX and Bessie Dow of Llano;
brothers Billy Arthur (Bud) Harden
of Denton, TX and W. L. Harden,
Jr. of Llano; grandson Matthew
Grant Harden of Llano; aunt lolcnc
Smith of Llano; and numerous
nieces and nephews.

Sumrall, 74, of Llano, TX were
held Sunday, May 2, 1999 at the
Lutie Watkins Memorial Methodist
Church with Rev. Harold Onwiler
officiating.
He was was born April 13, 1925
in Hattiesburg, MS to Mattie Pearl
(Wilson) and Acie Granville Sum-
rail and died April 30, 1999 in
Austin, TX.
He attended school in Sumrail,
MS. He .worked for the Rowan
Companies, Inc for 34 years as a
Maintenance Supervisor. After re-
tirement he began a life of willing
and cheerful servitude to the com-
munity of Llano. He was a U.S.
Navy veteran of WWII. He was a
caretaker. He was always to be
found taking care of business or
people and he genuinely cared about
both.
He was preceded in death by
brothers and sisters Howard Sum-
rail, Homer Sumrall, Houston
Sumrall, Hazel Sumrall and Lucille
Sumrail. •
Survivors include his wife Norma
Jean Sumrall; son Bobby Rousse
and wife Kathy of Cutoff, LA, Su-
san Gouaux and husband Phillip of
Lockport, LA and Ray Richard
Sumrall, II and wife Urmillia of

Llano, TX were held Monday, May
3, 1999 at the Waldrope, Hatfield,
Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel
in Llano with Brother Eugene Greer
officiating. Interment followed at
the Llano City Cemetery.
He was bom October 3, 1920 in
Farris, OK and died April 30, 1999
in Llano.
He was married to Bernice Olson
on April 25, 1954 in Rathdrum,
ID. He was a grocery store owner
and operator (C&B Grocery).
He lived in Llano since 1957
moving from Spokane, WA. He
was a member of the Church of
Christ in Llano and was a member
of the Hill Country Livestock
Raiser Assn., Southwest Cattle
Raisers Assn., Texas Farm Bureau
and the Llano County Chamber of
Commerce.
He was proceded in death by his
parents L. D. and Ethel (Behrns)
Crabtree; son Wayne Crabtree; sis-
ter Zelma Benham and brother
Lowell Crabtree.
Survivors include his wife Ber-
nice Crabtree of Llano; daughter
Marlene Lee Crabtree Of Dallas,
TX; sons Marvin Crabtree and wife
