Funeral services for Nelson Nel- |
lie Westbrook, Jr., 60, of Port
Neches, TX were held Thursday,
June 10, at the First Baptist Church
in Nederland, TX with Rev. Bobby
Dagnel officiating. Interment fol-
lowed at the Oak Bluff Memorial
Park in Port Neches.
A native of Jasper, TX, he lived
for 42 years in Port Neches. He was
retired from the laboratory at
Dupont Beaumont Works with 39
years of service as a supervisor.
Survivors include is wife Shirley
Westbrook of Port Neches; his
mother. Ruby McCormick of
Lumberton, TX; sons Phil and
Gary Westbrook, both of Nederland;
step-son Kevin Maddox of Beau-
mont, TX; step-daughter, Angel
Heartfield of Beaumont; brother Jim
Westbrook of Port Neches and
David Westbrook of Ray wood, TX;
sister Janice May of Lumberton;
and seven grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be
given to the Llano Crawfish Open
for the Llano Special Opportunity
School.
She was married to Ralph Bandy
on July 20, 1947 in Clovis, NM.
She worked as a Procurement
Officer for Civil Service and in
Real Estate.
She had lived in Kingsland for 22
years coming from Waco and
Austin. She was a Baptist and a
member of the First Baptist Church
in Kingsland. While in Waco she
was a member and served as
Recording Secretary of Eastern Star,
a member of the Order of Eastern
Star for 50 years and a member of
the Kingsland Order for 22 years.
She served as Treasurer for the
Lakewood Forest III Social Club
and a member of the Hill Country
Luncheon Club and served as sec-
ond Vice-president in charge of Year
Books.
Survivors include her sister Mil-
dred Merideth of Denton, TX and
niece Anise Walker of California.
Pallbearers were Ron Fleming,

Highland Lakes United Methodist
Church and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her son Gary
Barker of Austin, TX and grand-
daughter Michele Barker of Ohio.
