Turner believes representatives,
senators, and community leaders
should not rest on the laurels of
these successes. "There is still a lot
of work ahead of us to see the kind
of economic growth and prosperity
being experienced East of IH-35,"
Turner stated. During the interim
between the legislative sessions,
Rep. Turner will be involved first-
hand in developing the state
agriculture policy as mandated by
H.B. 2, and continue working to
help rural communities to improve
and diversify their economy.
Rep. Bob Turner said he does in-
tend to run for a sixth term in the
Texas House of Representatives
during the fall of 2000. "I had the
best session of my legislative career
in 1999. I was able to pass and
amend legislation to the benefit of
District 73 and all rural Texas. It
wouldn't make sense to abandon my
leadership position on rural issues
and my chairmanship in the Texas
House at this time. It is important
to maintain the momentum to ef-
fect further positive changes for the
district," Turner explained.

As Parisi told the friends who
gathered to wish her well, Diane's
accomplishments were far too many
to be mentioned that evening, suf-
fice it to say that Llano Memorial
Healthcare System and the commu-
