No.
Okay.
No, we ... he provided his own.
So, where did you go to school, elementary school and ...
Well, I started school at Stanton till we moved to Loraine, and then I went there
a few years, and then the school district moved or something, and I was
transferred to Colorado City. And then I ended up going to ... finishing up last
two years of high school at San Marcos Baptist Academy.
So, you actually went away to school then?
Right, yeah. And then ...
Now ...
... after I got out of high school, of course, World War II had started.
Uh hum.
And I joined the Navy in ... in the late summer of '43.
Uh hum. So, let's see, if you were born in 1925, then you sixteen years old
when Pearl Harbor was attacked, I guess.
More or less.
Just doing the math.
Yeah.
Do you remember that day and what you were doing?
I sure do, I sure do.
Tell me about that.

Well, we was there in the dormitory at school, and when all this came over the
radios and everything, and it was quite a shock. Of course, I didn't realize how
bad it was. It, you know, I was too young. Of course, I knew it was bad when
they go to doing what they did, but that's where I was and stayed there till I got
out of high school.
And then what did you do when you got out of high school?
I went back home and stayed two or three months and then joined the Navy.
