Gen. W. H. Hammon, of Calvert,
who was a Gireenback candidae for
governor in 1880, was shot and killed
at New Birhingham, Texas, ou last

voice of a side show barker.

comedian, a Jewish clown, a hand-
some young tough, and a couple of
adies. They sold—and I mean
really sold, not merely offered for
sale—corn and bunion cure "Pep-,"
"Vigortone," salve to clear the com-
plexion, and candy.

these mixtures of the Lord knows
what, forgetting about their bills at
the drug store. They 11 take it and.
as much sickness is in the mind, most
