ALEX SEMRAU AND HIS 1908 MODEL BUICK of. Orton-,
ville, Minnesota passed through Giddings Monday, Feb. 16.
He has visited every State in the Union in his 1908 contrap-
tion and this is his sixth trip through the Lone Star State.
Having lost both hands, his left arm shot off with a shot gun
and his other hand and part of his arm in a corn shredder,
he cannot crank the car, but on his right arm he has a hook
which enables him to drive the car. Old-timers will recognize
this 1908 model Buick. In the coastal country his car makes 24
miles on a gallon of .gasoline, but in higher altitudes it will
average 28 mles to the gallon. •
