Farm Bureau To
Explain Cucumber
Program In Giddings
On Monday night, March 31,
at 8 p. m. in the Court House
in Giddings there will be a
meeting to explain the cucum-
ber program.
The Lee County Farm Bureau
is making an effort to explain
this new program to all people
interested in Lee County. This
cash crop is just another way
for a few of the farm people to
bring some cash at a needed
time.
Tom Simmons of Lexington,
who is directing the cucumber
program, will be present to lead
the discussion. In addition, a
producer of cucumbers in the
past years program will explain
the production of cucumbers.
With three weeks still to go
before cucumber planing time,
105 acres of an anticipated 180
acres have been signed up by
63 farmers, according to Mr.
Simmons The seed will be
furnished for a nominal charge
of $1.00 per pound.
Simmons said the Fuller
Food Products Company will
purchase all cucumbers of six
grades. Yellow cucumbers will
not be accepted. It is expected
that all of the cucumber will
be graded and bought up be-
fore they can get old enough
to turn yellow.
The Lee County Farm Bu-
reau urges all Lee County peo-
ple interested to be present.

the outstanding event of the

music of the Hannes boys. He
also made it known that when •
his doors were closed to busi- j

the first time since the Park-1

The Hannes' moved to Gid-
