Cavalcade at the courthouse
from 2 to 4 p.m. and a paver
party at Roy's Cottage and
Chamber office from 4 to 5 p.m
Downtown Giddings is ex
pected to be filled with people
attending the many events
throughout the afternoon and
evening.
There will be arts and crafts
booths, courthouse tours, food
and beverage booths, historical
displays, a costumed story
teller and music throughout
the day.
At Firemen's Airline Park,
the softball tournament will
continue and the second
nightly performance of the Lee
County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo
will be presented at the covered
arena.

The Blue Sunsets will be pro-
viding music for the street
dance on Hempstead Street by
the courthouse until 11:30 p.m
Advance tickets may be pur
chased from members of the
South Lee County Volunteer
Fire Department.
Other events for senior citi-
zens on Thursday include a Se-
nior Health Fair at the First
Presbyterian Church along
with dominoes in the after-
noon.
Friday, May 14 is Children's
Day and there will be an open
house at the court house forstu-
dents from 8:31) to 4:30, with
punch and cookies being
served.
Food booths will be open from
5:30 to 11:30
Other events during the day
w ill be a softball tournament at
Airline Park, food booths and
the bier garten at the court-
house square and historical
displays at the courthouse will
be open to the public.
Friday night is the first per-
formance of the Lee County
Serbin beats Elgin,
Warda whips Taylor
in Sunday baseball
in Community Baseball
League action last Sunday,
Serbin shut out Elgin 2-0 and
Warda walloped Taylor 28 4
Rusty Hentschel was the
leading hitter for Serbin, who
was 4 for 5 with one home run
and two RBI's
Russell Urban was 2 for 4 and
Mike Kleinert was 2 for 4.
Serbin had 12 hits and the
winning pitcher was Craig ()lt-
mann, who hail 11 strikeouts.
Leading batter for Elgin was
Todd McCarty, who was 2 for
4. Losing pitcher was Matt
Pace.
Elgin only had 5 hits.
This Sunday Warda plays at
Serbin and Taylor is at Elgin.

South Leon and Giddings
Lumber and Hardware is the
contractor.
Frank Noe is installing neon
signs at the new Sears Store
in Giddings. The store is lo-
cated at 591 East Austin
Willie Mittasch is building a
carport at his home at 681
North Chambers. The carport
will be 400 square feet.
Ediberto Segundo is also
building a carport at 894 East
Bryan Street He is serving as
his own contractor for the 400
square foot structure.
Delores Munsell is building

Navarro. She is serving as her
