Representatives from Capi-
tal Area Planning Council
(CAPCO) appeared before the
Lee County Commissioners
Court Monday to discuss what
they do for the ten county area
they operate in and how they
help the area.
CAPCO handles the 9-1-1
telephone emergency system
improvements and trains
county employees in how to
handle the equipment and the
telephone calls. In Lee County
the 9-1-1 equipment is
handled through the Lee
County Sheriffs Department.
Becky Stewart, of CAPCO,
reported new 9-1-1 work sta-

this week or early next Mon-
day at the sheriffs office. She
said she argued with GTE of-
ficials and the equipment pro-
ducers last week to make sure
the equipment finally gets in-
stalled.
Linda Ward is the Lee

Since 1970 CAPCO has been
in charge of Criminal Justice

Deputy Rodney Meyer serves
