NEW BIDS ON SEWER
; Discovered That by Lowering Grade
It Can Be Improved.
It is anticipated that bids on the

! Steel is on the way to San Antonio
i for rebuilding the bit of Traction

Romana street in front of fire sta-

dent of the Traction Company said
Monday the track will be laid in the
near future.
"There is delay nowadays” he
said "in getting steel for curves be- ;
! cause of a shortage of manganese in |
the country. This is a hardening!
material and is always used in the j
best of steel for curves as the great- 1
est wear is at such points.”
The relocation of the track will .
give room on both sides for the pas- ‘
sage of vehicles. Owing to the nar-
row street the track heretofore has
run within a few feet of the fire sta- 1
tion. but since the building has been 1
moved back there is room for trans-
ferring the rails several yards.
