DOG ROPERS AT WORK
Will Wage War on stray Canine
from Midnight to < a. tn.
A squad ot dog ropers will b. on
duty from midnight until 7 o'clock
each morning In the future. It plan
mapped out by Chief ot Pollc. Lan-
caster. Captain Coy and Sergeant
Ezzell Saturday morning are carried
out. This action will probably be
taken because ot numerous com-
plaints from many parts of the city
relative to stray dogs on the street
at nights.
Residents according to Sergeant
Ezzell lately have filed many com-
plaints concerning dogs running at
large particularly between midnight
and dawn. Visits ot the ropers in
localities where complaint is mad.
during the daytime have proven use-
less. The squads ot ropers are now
at work during the day and hun-
dreds of dogs have been captured
and killed. During the last ten days
during which the crusade has been
carried on by the ropers more than
400 rounds ot ammunition has been
used in killing dogs taken to th.
pound and which have not been re-
deemed.
