Miss Cleo Agnes Wachsmann
and Clarence Dietrich Fischer
were united in marriage on Sun-
day, Oct. 9, at 3 p. m. at Eben-
ezer Lutheran Church, Man-
heim.
Mrs. Fischer is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. George Wachs-
mann of Route 1, Giddings and
the groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ben Fischer Sr., also of
. Route 1, Giddings.

corating the church were white
gladioli and chrysanthemums
and blue carnations against a
background of palms and cande-
labra. Mr. E. E Heinze, organ-
ist, played the wedding music.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a ballerina
length princess style gown of
white slipper satin and Chan-
tilly lace. The gown was fash-
ioned with a bodice of lace over
satin with scalloped scoop neck-
line embroidered with opales-
cent sequins, fitted waist, full
skirt and long tapered sleeves
The dress buttoned down the
back with tiny white satin but-
tons. Her waist length silk il-
lusion veil outlined in Chantilly
lace was attached to a tiara em-
broidered in pearls and opales-
cent sequins. She carried a bou-

A delicious supper of barbe-
cue and all the trimmings was
served.
Leaving for a trip to Vernon
and points in North Texas, the
bride wore a navy blue faille
dress with-matching accessories
and an orchid corsage. The cou-
ple will live in Giddings.

The Lutheran Laymen’s
League-Missouri Synod met at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Tay-
lor Sunday, Oct. 23.
Principal speaker for the ral-
ly was Rev. C. A. Gaertner of
Dallas, second Vice President of
the Texas District Lutheran
Church-Missouri Synod. His
subject was “A Good Church.”
During the business meeting
Edwin Menzel, membership se-
cretary of Immanuel Lutheran
of Giddings, was awarded a LLL
button for having enrolled over
10 per cent of the communicant
membership bf his church.

zel were appointed members of
the nominating committee.
