Cycling is “old hat” to Roy,
who rode motorcycles before he
ever threw a saddle on a horse.
In fact, he rode out to Hollywood
from the Midwest on a cycle in
the early ‘80s, when times were
bad and transportation costs

rode an overhead valve, 74 cubic-

When the day is done the cam-
eras are switched off, the store
doors close, and the weary Santa
Claus gets out of his Santa Claus;
suit and slips into something com-
fortable.
But Saturday night they forgot
to turn off the camera, and a
startled woman passing the closed
store saw Santa remove his curly
white whiskers. She stopped to
snigger and was joined by others
as Santa took off his wig and cap
and wiped his sweaty brow.
The crowd was growing as he
took off his polished boots It was
hilarious by the time he started
to struggle out of his jackets.
Santa didn't know it but he was
putting on his best performance
of the season. By the time he un-
buckled the big black shiny belt
and stepped out of his red baggy
pants he was laying them in the I
aisles. —
The crowds grew so big a floor-
walker stepped outside to see what
was going on. What he saw was
Santa Claus clad in only his shirt.
The camera was suddenly
switched off as Santa took cover
behind a cash register, his face
such as G. E., Sylvania, R.C.A.,
and Westinghouse.

It's Gurwitz, however, who has
captured the imagination of Long-
