As benefit payments to a self-
employed farmer and his depend-
ents will be based on all of his
reported earnings after 1954, it is
obvious that the benefit amount
will be reduced if earnings for
some of those years are not cre-
dited to his social security account.
Moreover, failure to report earn-
ings and pay the social security
tax can result in a farmer losing
his social security insured status.
If this happens and he dies, his
dependent survivors would not be
eligible for survivors benefit pay-
ments.
Marley also pointed out that in
failing to make these reports, a
self employed person is breaking
the law and may be called upon
not only to pay the social security
taxes but, in addition, be subject
to penalties and interest on those
taxes.

winds of adversity serve to draw
us toward our goal By the cen-

hold us against the winds.

knows and meets all our needs.
If we but put our trust in Him,
He will bring us safely to port.
