pastor in 1891 and served until
1901. In 1901 Brother W P. Green
again served as pastor, staying
— four years. He was succeeded in
1905 by Brother J. G. Kendall, who
served as Giddings First Baptist
Church pastor until 1912. Brother
W. W. Burr was pastor from 1912
until 1924.
Through the years the Giddings 1
First Baptist Church continued to
grow and gain new members. In
1883 this church had grown from
sixty-one members to one hund-
red and thirteen members. In 1912
there were one hundred and twen-
ty-five members., When Brother
Burr left in 1924, the church had
two hundred and five members

Holds Reunion
The 9th Annual Treude family
reunion was held Sunday, July 16
at the Edwin Treude Lake at La
Bahia with 37 members and two
visitors present.
A barbecue of mutton and chick-
en with all the trimmings was ser-
ved for the noon meal. A business
discussion was held in the after-
noon in which it was decided to
have another reunion in 1962 which

Texas sent a petition for mem-
bership in the Little River Asso-
ciation; this petition was carried
by ..Brother J. Budd, Pastor of
Giddings First Baptist Church at
that time; and by Brother
G. M. Buchanan and Brother
W. H. Fariss, lay members.
The latter showed a mem-
bershlpi of sixteen persons. Bro-
ther Budd pastored the church un-
til 1875. He was followed by Bro-
ther F. Kiefer, pastor. In 1881,
Brother F. M. Law was pastor; by

Fifteen.
Brother H. L. McLerran suc-
ceeded Brother H. C. Hooter as
pastor in 1944 and he remained as
pastor in Giddings of First Baptist
Church until December, 1955. In
1955 Brother Joe Bomar accepted |
