The mandate of the United
Nations Disengagement Observer
Force between Israeli and Syrian
forces on the Golan Heights was
extended by the Security
Council Friday evening for six
months. The vote was 13 in
favor. China and Iraq did not
take part in the vote, as they did
not in the vote extending the life
of UN forces in the buffer zone
in the Sinai desert. The UNDOF
resolution was sponsored by
Austria, Cameroon, Indonesia,
Kenya, Mauritania and Peru.

testimony, in which he was

would sit down with the leaders
of the Israeli government and I
would say, all right, here is the
reality and how are we going to
deal with it? If you will forgive
me, sir. This happens to be their
problem. They live over there.
These people were on their land
and they took the land.”
