When Toys That Teach opened
in Fondren Southwest on May 28,
it filled a void that had existed for
parents who shopped for more
than just toys for their children.
Ro Miller, part owner with Marian
Cohen, says the store caters to
"distinctive tastes". The shop is
parent-oriented, although it is a-
typical of teacher supply stores.
They sell finest quality toys and
games with value and a purpose.
Miller is a native Houstonian and
It has been Houston's good for-
tune to have lust Beautiful, Inc., in
its midst since 1980. Just Beauti-
ful, one of the fastest growing
chains in the area, brings with it a
combined knowledge in beauty
supplies and cosmetics of over fifty
years' experience covering New
York, Florida, Kansas and Massa-
chusetts.
Right now there are ten stores
in and around the Houston area,
with future expansion planned.
Why is Just Beautiful so success-
ful? "A full inventory is the key,"
according to Shari Tisman, the
buyer for this progressive chain.
" When a customer comes in for a
specific product, we usually have
it, and if we don't, we can get it al-
most immediately. As far as our
cosmetic inventory, we carry in-
depth lines, including the hard-to-
find colors."
The rate of success with their
private label cosmetics would sur-
prise the most liberal forecaster
according to Stuart Cohen, who
heads that division.'' We've gone
to the same manufacturers that
formulate and produce products
for the well-known prestigious
companies and are able to give
the consumer these products un-
der our own label at substantial
savings."
Just Beautiful also carries a huge
array of beauty supplies and always
has at least one licensed cosmeti-
cian at each location. All sales peo-
ple are properly trained to advise
on how and when to use the pro-
ducts they sell.
Houston area residents are in-
vited to stop in and meet just Beau-
tiful's professional staff and let
them show how to become"Just
Beautiful." Those interested can
