The Yiddish Vinkel will hold its
monthly meeting on Monday,
July 13, at 8 p.m., at the Jewish
Community Center. There will be
a showing of the film "Fishke Der
Krunter", also known as the "The
Light Ahead". The film was done
in Yiddish in 1939 and after being
lost for decades, has been re-
stored and subtitled in English
by the National Center for Jewish
Films of Brandeis. This is a beauti-
fully acted love story based on
the works of Mendele Mokher
Seforim, “grandfather” of Yid-
dish literature. The Yiddish Vinkel
sponsors monthly programs in
Yiddish which are open to the
community at no charge. Anyone
interested in becoming a mem-
ber of the Vinkel can contact Ana
Deedee Ostfeld motivated all
