Well, 1 see where two of the standout gridiron players from
last year’s football team have signed with Texarkana Junior
- CoHege They are Bill Brown and Joe Temple -
Kenneth Bearden, coach of the Texarkana eleven, was here
in Mount Pleasant the other day and expressed: extreme praise
for the two boys. “Temple has a fine future ahead of him in col-
lege football," he said of the end-quarterback who graduated in
May Brown has the size and weight to really become an asset
to Texarkana J.C.”, Braden noted.
The Titus County pair, will join another ex Tiger on the Tex-
arkana squad next fall. Charles Reed, a burly tackle of two sea-
sons past at MPHS, was a starting guard on the Bulldog team
last year that posted an 82 record and went on to the national
junior college championship. Texarkana lost to Northeastern
Oklahoma, 10-7 in the championship game
Coach Braden summed it up by saying, "I feel like we’re
very fortunate to have these two boys come to Texarkana JC."
