The Tigers brought their
record on the winning side of
the ledger (5-4) with a sweep
of four straight games in the
Iron Belt Tournament
As they head into tonight's
game, only five-tenths of a
point seperated the two top
scorers with three Bengals
averaging in the double Fig-
ures.
Charley, Roberts has netted
116 points in nine games for
a 12.9 average. Phil Wil-
liams, who earned all tourna-
ment honors in the Iron Belt
tourney with a fine surge in
scoring, is averaging 12.4
points per game.
Rogers, who has played in
only five games, is third with
a 108 average.

They're host to Mount Ver-
non in a non-conference bas
ketball melee in Brice Gym
at 8 o'clock and it will be
the third time this season
the two clubs have met.
Mount Vernon, boasting a
tall, talented team, clobbered
the Tigers 61-38 in the 1965-
66 season debut. However, in
the annual Mount Pleasant
Invitational Basketball Tour-
nament, the Tigers bought
the Franklin County Bengals
quite a bit tougher, losing
only by 35-32.
So tonight’s the rubber
match and the MPHS
eagesters, fresh from captur-
ing the Iron Belt Tournament
championship last weekend
at Daingerfield, might find
themselves able to avenge
those earlier losses to Mount
Vernon.
The curtain goes up at 6:30
p.m. for a B game.
Mount Pleasant will be
missing the services of the
Tigers' lone letterman re-
turnee, Phil Rogers. The 6-3
senior suffered an injured
ankle during the Daingerfield
meet. He'll definitely be out
•f action for a week or so,
according to Coach James
Hooks.
Other action this, week for
the Tigers will be the Paris
