RARE BOOKS — Bancroft Elementary
School students Friday presented a collection
of rare books which belonged to the late
Judge and Mrs. H. M. Tippitt to Mr. and
Mrs. E. W. Brown Jr. The 19th century books
must be restored before being displayed.

donated 52,500 to the school library to pur-
chase new books. Brown donated the library
facility in 1959.

Lock Operators
The U.S. Civil Service Com-
mission Is recruiting lock op-
erators for employment at the
Brazos River floodgates in Free-
port.
- The jobs pay $2.79 per hour
with additional pay of 8 and 14
cents an hour for second and
third shifts, respectively. An ad-
ditional differential is paid for
Sunday work.
