High team series:
The Hurricanes were matched against an undefeated
team which later went on to win the Western Regional
Playoffs.
In the first five minutes of the game, the Hurricanes
had two direct penalty kicks awarded to their opponent
on questionable calls allowing the opposing team toi
obtain two points. This served to demoralize the team
which was already overtired from the proceeding day.
They gave up two more goals in the first half then rallied
their strength and held their opponent 0-0 despite valiant
attempts by both teams to score. Final score was 0-4.
A more competitive division two team will be formed
this Fall. Interested girls between 11 and 14 years of age

The under 14 girls soccer team, the Hurricanes, quali-
fied for the Western Regional Playoffs. These consisted
of three games on December 7 with semi-finals and
finals on December at Retama.
Three games in one day is grueling at the best of times
but the Hurricanes did well in the face of adversity. With
a limited roster of 11 players (no substitutes) for game
one, the team was victorious with a 4-1 victory.
Games two and three were played with only 10 players
on the field against strong teams with substitutes avail-
able to relieve tiring players. Game two ended in a 0-0
tie. Game three’s final score was a 0-4 loss for the team.
Despite the loss, the team had succeeding in positioning
themselves to go forward to the semi-finals.
