OF YOUR WIRE TERMINATION PROBLEMS
The music facilities will include
an auditorium, studio equipment
and three recital halls adapted to all
instruments.
"The new building will be our
first properly constructed music
facility," Thormodsgaard said. "It
will make us (music department)
proud for the first time in history
to invite the community and
prospective students to visit."
Clarke H. Garnsey, chairman of
the art department, is equally lavish
in his praise of the new edifice.
"This is the best thing that’s ever
happened to the art department,"
he asserted.
The chairman said the building
will provide a broader area of
artistic endeavors, such as looming,
weaving, general arts and crafts and
jewlery and silversmithing.
The structure will be a new home
for the music and art departments,
but, it is the first specific residence
for the speech and drama groups,
which previously held classes from
a scattering of buildings.

Mrs. Kuhn said both young and
older persons have many similar
problems. Young persons are told
they have little or nothing to offer
because of lack of experience while
the old persons are thought to be
"over the hill because their
experience is obsolete," she
explained.
Young persons are discriminated
against in credit matters, just as
older persons are, Mrs. Kuhn said.
She added both young and old
suffer from various kinds of
identity crises.
In addition to similar problems,
parallel situations often exist for
both older and younger persons.
The two groups have relative
freedom from job and family
obligations. The Panthers point out
radical actions will not jeopardize
their existence as much as in other
phases of life.
Mrs. Kuhn said the group has
been working with "consciousness
raising" to help both old and young
understand the nature and effects
of "agism" and how they can build
the self-esteem necessary to
overcome it.
