Mexican Week spurs bi-university conference
Cultural exchange among nations is an aspect of
communication stressed by many scholars, which
could develop a more personal understanding of other
lifestyles. ,
While enhancing and cultivating the understanding
among persons from the United States and other
countries, graduate students have the opportunity to
compete for foreign study grants in 50 different
countries through the Fulbright Program.
The program is administered through the Institute
of International Education, a federally funded
program that administers several student exchange
programs, Michael E. Austin, assistant dean of the
Graduate School and Fulbright Program advisor, says.
The University, Austin says, is giving graduate
students the opportunity to apply for foreign study
under the Fulbright Program.
Austin notes that this particular agency has been
assisting foreign exchange students for more than 30
years. Other grants are awarded by foreign
governments, universities and private donations, he
adds.
