In Society
The Tuesday Musical club held a
meeting Tuesday afternoon at the home
of Mr». Eli Hertzberg on West Euclid
avenue. Announcement was made vt
the concert to be given by the Tuesday
Musical Club octet on the evening of
November 2V in the ball loom of the
Gunter hotel. Mrs. Mavbel New Wil-
liams violinist; Mrs. Fred Jones so-
prano. and Miss Russell Hughes
dancer will appear as soloists with the
octet of which Mrs. Edward Sachs is
diieetor.
Little Miss Alma Margaret Wendel
was the child artist appearing cn the
program of this meeting. Little Miss
Wendel who is only 7 years of age and
a pupil of Miss Meta Hertwig. played
two numbers "March of the Recruits”
and “Song Without Words” (Stray-
burg). As an encoie she rang a song
playing her own accompaniment.
Mrs. Stanley Winters was in charge
of the program arranged by Mrs. Ed-
gar Scbmnk. It was aa follows; So-
prano solo “Hear Ye Israel” Lorn
Elijah" Mre. S. Gardner accompanied
by Mrs. A. M. Fischer; trio "Lift Up
Thine Eves” (Elijah) Mrs. 8. Bardner
Miss Alice Simpson and Mrs. Guy
Simpson; contralto solo “Canterbury
Bells” Mrs. Guy Simpson accompanied
• by the composer W. J. Marsh of Fort
Worth; piano solo “Barcarolle” (God-
dard) Miss Katherine Fischer.
An interesting feature of the program
was the musical sketches given by W.
J. Marsh of Fort Worth. His num-
bers included •“Water Scenes” (Carr-
Jones); “The Fate of the Flimflam”
(Bergh) and "Shakespeare Snapshot-
ted.”

Mrs. Frank W. Mathews will enter-
tain about sialy friends with a Hallow-
e’en party Wednesday evening.

One of the events nt Hallowe’en was
the annual dance given by the Elks
lodge Monday evening with nearly the
entire membership and their invited
guests present.
The ball room was decorated in Hal-
lowe’en colors and motifs the lights
being shaded with miniature pvmpkins.
Darning was enjoyed from B^o until
early Tuesday mornin. Dancers ”•
costumes and prizes wc awarded for
the best costumes. Winners in the cos-
tume contest were chosen by acclma-
tion after the participants hat. passed
in review before the four judges C. <\

Republican organization will be held at
3 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the St.
Anthony hotel. An election of officers
will take place and a large attemhmee
of members is requested.

home of Mrs. Jxmis Polk on West
