“Moral Reformation” of
Government to Be Com-

CROWDER IS PLEASED
M~ny Relatives of Presi-

lic Office.
By the A«»«i*ied Vrr»».
Havana June 13.—Congress and the
president moved fast Monday to rom-
.plv with the American governments
’ sugest ions for a ‘moral reformation
of the Cuban administration and to re-
move any cause for possible foreign in-
tervention.
Announcement was made Monday
evening by Jose M. Cortina secretary
of the president and chief of the cabi-
net. that the personnel of the reor-
ganixed cabinet would be announced
within 48 hours together with a list
of new administrative oficials.
The house of representatives late last
night named a commission to confer
with President Zeayas on the situation
growing out of the recommendations
made to the president by Gen. Enocn H.
Crowder. The house also named . a
commission to confer with a commis-
sion of the upper chamber on the ques-
tion of reducing legislative expenses in-
cluding salaries of members of congress
and the approved bill reforming ire
federal accounting system.
Senate io Co-operate.
The senate was not in regular ses-
sion but an informal conference ap-
pointed a commission to visit Presi-
dent Zeayas and assure him that the
senate would co-operate in enacting
^.legislation.
Members of the conservative wing of
the national league or administration
party are asserted to have had under
consideration a plan looking to the im-
peaehement of President Zeayas unless
he should promptly carry out pledges
to General Crowder to rid the govern-
ment of alleged graft.
' Notwithstanding alarming reports in
circalation that the American govern-
ment virtually had intervened in Cuba
and charges made by opposition news-
papers that the administration was en-
deavoring to evade the carrying out of
the request of General Crowder to
“scrap the present political machine.”
■no official statement was forthcoming
from either the presidential palace or
the American legation on the status cf
a fairs.
General Crowder has contented rim-
self with the announcement that ue is
pleased with the attitude of the govern-
ment and the people toward his recom-
mendation for the elimination of graft
in public office. President Zeayas had
linvted himself to a denial that the at-
titude of the army bas forced tbe United
4?; tes to act
Relathe In Office.

tiago Key. majority leader in the bouse

consent for the immediate considera-
tion of a resolution proposing a flue
on tbe pilots of such planes. When
the Mississippi senator objected. Sena-
tor Heflin asked if he understood what
the resolution was about. Senator Wil-
liams assured him with some emphasis
that he did adding that he understood
an airplane had disturbed the senator
while he was making a speech last Sun-
day.
The author of the resolution said ibis
was the case and also that an airplane
had disturbed President Harding when
the executive was delivering his ad-

coln Memorial on behalf of the Nation.
"As far as I can learn" said Senator
Williams nothing is free except the

air free even if it interrupts the Presi.

•kit. ordered perfected yesterday but
half a hundred friends of the defendants
sought Justice S. R. H irper without
success. The magistrate was said to be
on a fishing expedition. It was ex-
pected he would be at his court today
to approve the bonds. Mr. Irwin and
Mr. Lewis have been at liberty on bail
since injunctions were filed against
them.
A decision as to whether .fr. Irwin
will be expelled from the communion of
the Presbyterian church was xpected to
be announced today by tbe Judiciary
Committee of the El Reno Presbytery.
Ecclestiastieal action against the min-
ister has no conection with the arson
charge. He was cited several months
ago to stand trial before a church com-
mission on charges of conduct unbe-
coming a minister. One of tbe counts
alleged he brought disrepute upon the
Presbyterian church by publicly marry-
ing a couple clad in bathing suits. Mr.
Irwin resigned his partorate before be
was brought to trial.
