Southbound rail shipments into Mexico increased 6.1 percent in
August. Laredo was up 9.3 percent and Eagle Pass increased 5.3
percent. However, Brownsville dipped 4.4 percent. YTD, total
southbound rail shipments into Mexico from Texas were down 1.2
percent. Laredo, which accounts for 64.8 percent of all southbound
rail shipments in August was down 4.7 percent. Eagle Pass,
accounting for 19.8 percent of all southbound rail shipments,
increased 12.1 percent. Brownsville, with 15.4 percent of all

in August, decreased 6.1 percent and Brownsville, with 5.4 percent
