OBITUARIES
Robert T. Hensley
Boerne resident
Robert T. Hensley, P.E. retired, age 76, died at his home in Boerne on
January 25, 1998. He was born August 23, 1921 in Phoenix, Arizona, the
son of Jane and Harold S. Hensley Sr. In 1922, the family moved to La
Feria, Texas, where he graduated from La Feria High school in 1940 .
He then entered Texas A&M College, and in 1942, enlisted in the Army
Air Corps, graduating from multi-engine pilot training in February,
1944.
He served in England with the 406th Bomb Sqd., 8th Air Force, fly-
ing 42 missions in B-24s over Germany. After the end of World War II,
he returned to A&M, graduating with a degree in Agricultural
Engineering in 1950. From 1950-56, he was employed by the USDA;
1957-58, manager of the Los Fresnos Water District; 1958-67, manager
of the La Feria Water District; 1967 until retirement in 1986 with the
Texas Water Commission. He was an active member of the Kendall
Masonic Lodge #897; Alzafar Shrine Temple, Alzafar Arab Patrol,
Alzafar Rod and Gun Club, and Camp Alzafar.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna Margaret; sons and
spouses Robert Warren and Rene Hensley of Hermosa, South Dak., and
David and Sherri Hensley of Cypress, Texas; adored grandchildren,
Robert Joseph Hensley, Natalie Hensley, Dustin Hensley, Amy Hensley,
Joe Murray and James Murray; great-grandchildren Robert and Britney
Hensley; brother Harold S. Hensley Jr. of San Antonio; mother-in-law
and father-in-law Grace and Irwin Grotzinger of Boerne; and numerous
nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel
of Vaughan’s Funeral Home of Boerne, Dr. David B. Vaughan officiat-
ing. Interment followed in the Boerne Cemetery, with Masonic grave-
side rites under the auspices of Kendall Lodge #897.
Pallbearers were Baxter Williams, Bobby Hunt, John Q. Adams,
Everett Bulmer, Jim Jackson and Ted Masterson.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children

business was closed, the license
plate of a parked car was run
through the computer at 1:20 a.m.

A 90-year-old woman with chest

man and a 53-year-old woman who
said they were “making out” were

• 302 Hickman - A caller reported • 814 E. Blanco - A vehicle was
her ex-boyfriend had kicked in her stopped and the driver arrested for

• 124 Mesquite - A caller stated
two men knocked on their door
telling homeowner’s that they were
looking for gas leaks. The com-
plainant called the city utilities
department who said the men did

advised a subject was passed out in
a vehicle. Officers arrived and found
the suject inxoticated and passed
out. The subject was arrested for
public intoxication.

responded to a complaint of loud
music and juveniles drinking alco-
hol. On arrival officers found one
juvenile hiding in the back yard and
two girls ran home.
• 417 Graham - Complainant
advised of a vehicle driving around
squealing its tires and trying to push
down signs and telephone poles.
Officers were unable to locate the
vehicle.
• 224 Becker - Three head of cat-
tle were wandering around the
neighborhood. The owner was con-
tacted and retrieved his cows.
