Spreads Pretty Table
For 18th Birthday
An interesting sight was the
richly laden table at the annual
Sealy Choral Club party at Fire-
men’s Park Tuesday night, when
the club celebrated its eighteenth
birthday. The long white table
held delicious fried chicken, sal-
ads, deviled eggs, pickles, potato
chips, sliced tomatoes, carrot
strips, pepper rings, olives, coffee
cake, cakes, and iced soft drinks,
a scene exemplary of a bounteous
feast. The spread and the free
bingo games which followed
were enjoyed by members and
their families and friends.
Mrs. John Schier blessed the
table at the opening of the meal.
The club originated in 1930
with a membership of 36. On
its eighteenth birthday it has
eighteen members, with only
three of the charter members par
taking of the gaiety at the Tues-
day night party. These were
Mrs. R. O’Connor, Mrs. Ruth
Westerman, and Mrs. J. C. Hill,
of Center.
Gifts were received by vari-
ous members and guests present.
Named as special guests were
those who assisted the club in the
1948 baccalaureate service.
