Tut: Light begs pardon from Its rend-
ers for tho amount or space devoted to
tho election and to local candidates.
'Ibis Is a very Important matter Just now
to all tho people and the Idea Is to Im-
press upon the voters the duty that de-
volves upon them. After the election
the refuse will be cleared away an d tho
non-polltlcal reader will be given n show.
Now 14 tho time to defeat the ring.
Don't trade with the creatures of tho
ring.
Snxn by the Teople's ticket and wipe
out the ring.
Snow no quarter to the ring and Its
creatures.
The way to break up a wicked and
corrupt ring is to vote against It and Its
nominees.
IiEWiHK of electioneering falsehoods
and frauds put afloat on election day by
the ring and Its creatures.
Tiik Turner hall ticket Is getting weak
and has grown weaker every day since
It was fixed by the clique.
Why should the elty have 200 work-
men employed at the rook quarry right
at the election f Is It an election trick f
Tnr.r.E are some good men on the ring
ticket but they will have to take the
consequences of being In bad company.
Boouuro expresses the condition and
the style of the Teople's ticket and It
will run away from the ring ticket on
Tuesday.
This business men of the city will not
support the nominees of Turner hall.
They cannot approve the ways ot the
lilting." This Is a pointer.
Judge NopxAK ought to about double
the vote given Mr. Houston and he will
do so In case the real people take the
Interest which they should In the elec
tion.
The Turner hall ticket had better cast
an anchor to the windward and unload
some of Its alleged Pcmocratlo nomi
nees If It wishes to save anything from
the wreck.
Vote for Judge Hector the protection
candidate for Conirress. and do that
much towards the protection of the
beep and other Interest sof the West
em country.
Snitxthe money of the ring deter-
mine whe shall fill the county offices of
ltexar county? We appeal to the peo-
ple of Bexar to prevent any such Infamy
and degradation.
It is ni.v enough for the ring mana
gers to attempt to herd the Mexican
Vote without calling on the city to help
them by paying for a large gang of
alleged street laborers.
Siuu. the county offices of Bexar be
.filled by men whose only strength lies
In chicane corruption and bribery The
ring proposes to vote all corrupt and
puruiaseable men In the oounty.
Thk business men of San Antonio
would almost commit inlclde by helping
to eloot tbo ring ticket. Ring rule would
ptwVe mUl to the future growth and
Mines prosperity of the city.
Jvixin NnritfAX will receive the vote !
of every citizen who desires to see n
non-partisan Judge seated on tho bench.
Mr. Houston Is ono of the bell weathers
of the ring and Is Its nominee. Don't
forget this fact.
Ir Sam Antonio sots any store by the
woot trade she will poll a lsrge vote for
Judge Hector so ns to show her desire to
have the duty of 1607 restored upon wool
Men should not sacrlflco their Interest
Just to please n parcel of wild theorists.
Vote for Judge Hector for Congress
and then you will add to tho prosperity
of the city and the country. He repre-
sents tho Idea of protection to all our In-
dustries and should have the vote of
every true citizen of Pan Antonio Irre-
spective of party.
Tiik anxiety of the Democratlo papers
regarding Mr. Illatne's health Is only
equalled by their hopes that the rumors
of his break down are true. Hut Mr.
Blaine Is alt right and will be ready to
receive callers at the White House after
March 4.
The question Is shall 1C00 Mexicans
dictate to 4500 people their oounty o Ul-
cers. The 4300 people emphatically say
they shall not do so. Kvery vote cast-
for the Turner hall ticket Is a vote In
favor of having 1500 Mexicans rule 4500
voters. That Is the real Issue.
The 1'eople's ticket gains In favor
every moment and every hour while the
ring ticket loses ground the more It Is
examined. Xobody can ever regret
having cast a voto for the People's tick-
et bat all who support the ring concern
will repent doing so. In ashes and
sackcloth.
The Turner hall ticket Is a mongrel
affair. There Is hardly n "Simon l'ure"
Democrat on tho ticket and It Is this
fact that so Irritates French Cnsslano
Copeland and Dr. King. It Is tough on
them to know their democracy Is below
par and that their endorser the Times
rather hurts their credit.
The enthusiasm with which certain of
the Turner hall nominees are circulat-
ing counterfeit Republican and 1'eople's
tickets would show to a man up a tree
how desperate Is their course. Having
staked all on tho Mexican vole which
they are not suro of they are now try-
ing the questionable and slippery dodge
of sailing under false colors.
AccouM.va to an Iowa newspaper a
Wisconsin wool buyer Is giving the best
Illustration of the way the campaign Is
regarded by practical business men In
that State. This man oilers to make
contracts for wool at 30 cents a pound If
Illalne Is elected and 2.1 cents a pound
if Cleveland Is elected. The Inference
Is so plain that any farmer can draw It.
A calm consideration of the speech de
livered by Colonel Upson and published
In the I.iaiiT should make plnln to
everyone the benefits of protection and
to that end Judge Hector should bo sup-
ported In his race for Congress for the
Tenth district. He Is an able and rep
resentative man and will 1111 the posi
tion with credit to himself ami honor to
the district.
The voters of llexnr one It to them
selves to elect the best men In the field
for the various county offices. Tuoe on
the People's ticket are competent hon-
est and faithful and are In accord and
sympathy with tho people. The ring
nominees will be under the Influence of
the clique which nominated them. Xo
reflecting man can withhold bis vote
from the People's ticket.
All during the summer when the
streets needed working there was but n
handful of laborers employed but now
on the eve of election tho Street Com-
missioner has about 100 men who are
apparently employed for street work
but whose presenco looks very much
like an Importation of Illegal voters.
